The Center for People's Justice has urged for thermal power facilities to be built in a way that does not degrade the environment. According to the report, the environmental deterioration caused by the two thermal power plants in North chennai is increasing the frequency of juvenile mortality.

The ecosystem of such places is degrading, according to a report by NGO C40, due to the power plants running in the Vallur and Ennur sectors of North Chennai. According to the group, which researches climate change in major cities across the world, if the current scenario in North chennai persists, air pollution will increase the number of juvenile deaths and more teenagers will be in danger of acquiring asthma.

In addition, 800 fishermen are concerned that the ash smoke in the water will have an impact on their livelihoods. Thermal power plants create more hazardous gases and ash since they burn coal and natural gas. This is harmful to the environment and puts human lives in jeopardy. To avoid this, the tamil Nadu government must pay prompt attention to the situation.

The parties in power alternately argue that the electricity industry continues to lose money. However, no attempt was made to rehabilitate or modernise it after the loss. On the one hand, environmental destruction, and on the other, constant loss!

With this in mind, we must investigate ways to create electricity without endangering the environment or human life. We don't have a choice but to give up the perfect world. The Center for People's Justice continues to stress the importance of not allowing progress to erode spontaneously.
