'Mother Plant' of Dussehri MangoA huge 300-year-old tree is present in Dussehri village located on Hardoi Road in Kakori block of Uttar Pradesh. Spread over an area of 1600 feet, this huge mango tree is said to be the mother plant of Dussehri mango. The mangoes of this tree kept in the protected category are considered to be different in terms of taste.
According to former head husband Manoj Yadava, once when the garbage plant was about to be constructed, there was talk of removing this tree, but the people of the village did not allow this to happen and saved it on the strength of their struggle. After this it was preserved by asking the public representatives. This tree has also got heritage status.
