Most polluted cities in the world..!? Which indian city..?

Swiss air tracking index IQAir has ranked mumbai as the most polluted city in india and the second most polluted city globally during the week from january 29 to february 8. On january 29, mumbai ranked 10th. On february 2, mumbai took the second spot. It fell in the following days. On february 8, it regained the second position. Yesterday (February 13), mumbai overtook delhi as India's most polluted city. According to CPCB data, the number of 'worst' and 'worst' days in mumbai from november to january this year was double that of the previous three winters. According to 2020 research by the National Environmental Engineering Research Institute (NEERI) and IIT-Bombay, road or construction dust is responsible for over 71% of the particulate load in Mumbai's air. Factories, power plants, airports, and landfills play a major role in making Mumbai's air too polluted to breathe.

IQAir, a swiss air tracking index and real-time global air quality monitor, along with UNEP and Greenpeace, measures air quality in india using data from the central pollution control board (CPCB). Cities are classified as 'healthy', unhealthy, and 'hazardous' according to the US air Quality Index (AQI) standards, which are more stringent than in India.
