"The holidays are a season of happiness, festivity, and excess. During this season of abundant family get-togethers, feasts, and parties, it's easy to overindulge in the delectable confections and high-fat meals that are abundant. Making the most of this period of leisure is crucial, but so is striking a balance and controlling your weight to avoid struggling with excess weight come January. The founder of Team Aminder and fitness guru Aminder Singh offers the following four recommendations to help you enjoy the holidays without allowing your weight to spiral out of control.

1. Be active and participate in physical activities: One common mistake made over the holidays is to spend too much time on the couch or playing cards. Instead of giving in to the temptation of a sedentary lifestyle, design entertaining activities that involve some movement. Arrange backyard football, frisbee, or badminton tournaments for your family.

2. Assist with decorating: Inspire your family members to join in, creating a delightful and advantageous chance to bond throughout the holidays. These activities not only keep you active but also provide you the chance to create lifelong memories with your loved ones. Additionally, consider volunteering to assist with physically demanding tasks like meal preparation or decorating setup. Exercise of any size adds up and helps counteract any additional calories that may be consumed during holiday feasts.

3. Eat everything, but watch portion sizes: There's a common misconception that some dishes should be totally avoided throughout the christmas season. However, moderation and portion control are more important than complete abstention. Giving up your favorite holiday treats might lead to overindulgence in the future. Rather, allow yourself to enjoy smaller portions of these mouthwatering treats.

4. Go green: When deciding what to include in your meal, prioritize vegetables, lean meats, and nutritious grains. If you select one of these nutrient-dense meals, you can feel satisfied and full while consuming fewer calories. Let yourself indulge in a small number of delectable dishes without feeling guilty. Just remember that managing your portion amounts is more crucial than following a tight diet.

5. Regular exercise: The holidays sometimes cause a disruption to our regular routines, including our fitness regimens. When you have a packed schedule and trip plans, it's easy to entirely neglect exercise. It's critical to maintain consistency with your exercise program over the holiday season in order to control your weight.
