Why will liquor shops remain closed in Delhi?

According to the information, the Excise Department has decided to close the liquor shops in view of gandhi Jayanti and other festivals. An order has been issued to close the liquor shops due to gandhi Jayanti on 2 October. Along with this, the festival of dussehra is also coming. Liquor shops will remain closed here on 12 october (Saturday) due to Vijayadashami.

After this, the shops will be closed on october 17 as well. This day is Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti. Along with this, the shops will also remain closed on october 31, which is the day of diwali festival. On november 15, there will be a dry day in the national capital due to Guru Nanak Jayanti. Apart from this, liquor shops will not open in delhi on the occasion of Guru Tegh Bahadur Martyrdom Day on november 24.

The order issued by the Excise Department also states that the licensees will not be entitled to any compensation due to any change in the sale of liquor in Delhi. The ban on the sale of liquor during dry days will not apply to the service of liquor to the residents in the case of hotels with L-15 and L-15F licenses.
