This Snack, Known as Poor Man's Almonds, is Gaining Popularity in Jalore

The city of Jalore in western rajasthan, famously dubbed the ‘Granite City,’ is currently filled with the delightful aroma of peanuts, often referred to as the ‘poor man’s almond.’

Local peanut trader Nasrul Khan shared with Local18, “Our peanuts are roasted with salt to enhance their flavor. They are rich in vitamin E, which is great for the skin and hair.”

Roasted peanuts are sold for ₹160 per kg, while raw peanuts cost ₹140 per kg. In Jalore, the peanut trade has evolved beyond just a snack; it’s become a part of a healthier lifestyle.
