The country's leading online travel platform company EaseMyTrip has resumed booking for Maldives. The company said that after the improvement in relations between the government of india and maldives and constructive talks with the Ministry of Tourism of maldives, the company has decided to resume booking after a lot of thought.
Easy Trip Planners Limited, which runs a travel tech platform by the name of EaseMyTrip.com, said in a regulatory filing with the stock exchange that Easy My Trip has decided to resume booking for maldives after the improvement in bilateral relations between the governments of the two countries.
On this decision, Nishant Pitti, co-founder and CEO of Easy My Trip said, "After the positive development of improvement in bilateral relations between india and maldives, we are going to resume booking for maldives again." We have taken this decision after positive talks during the recent visit of representatives of the Tourism Ministry of maldives to india and our office. As a nation-first company, we always stand with our government and support their vision. He said, this is a step taken towards the goals of promoting friendship and tourism between the two countries.
Earlier this year, tensions between india and maldives had increased after prime minister Narendra Modi's visit to Lakshadweep. Some ministers of the government there had made lewd comments on social media on PM Modi's visit to Maldives. After this, the insult of the prime minister and the country was not liked by indians and many companies here, after which the boycott of maldives started. Ease My Trip also cancelled all flight bookings opposing the maldives government. Then CEO Nishant Pitti had written in an X post that we are united with the nation. Therefore, the company is suspending booking of all flights to Maldives.
