Hyderabad's mango lovers have a reason to rejoice as the king of fruits has made an early entry this season. Across markets in the city, mangoes are being sold at prices ranging between ₹150 and ₹400 per kilogram, depending on the quality and variety.

Currently, only two popular varieties—Benishan and Banganapalli—are available, drawing enthusiastic buyers despite their premium pricing. These varieties are celebrated for their rich flavor, smooth texture, and unparalleled sweetness, making them perennial favorites among consumers.

The early arrival of mangoes is being attributed to favorable weather conditions in the regions where they are cultivated. Farmers and traders are optimistic about a fruitful season ahead, expecting the influx of more varieties such as Dasheri, Himayat, and Alphonso in the coming weeks.

Local vendors at key markets like Mozzam Jahi Market and Gudimalkapur fruit Market report brisk sales, as many Hyderabadis have wasted no time in bringing home the first fruits of the season. "The demand is always high for Benishan and Banganapalli because of their unique taste. customers don’t mind paying a premium to get their hands on the best produce," shared a vendor.

As more varieties make their way into the city, prices are expected to stabilize, giving everyone a chance to indulge in this seasonal treat. For now, the early mangoes are a sweet prelude to a summer of culinary delights, from fresh mango slices to traditional recipes like mango dal and pickles.

Hyderabad’s markets are abuzz with the excitement of mango season, a reminder that some traditions, like savoring the first mangoes of the year, never go out of style.
