Is there any treatment for joint pain in ayurveda or homeopathy?

Orthopedic surgeon Dr. Raju Vaishya said, for people suffering from joint pain in winter, apart from allopathy, there are treatment options in ayurveda and homeopathy as well. In allopathy, pain pills, ointments, physiotherapy and in severe cases injections or special medicines are given. In ayurveda, massage with hot oil and some herbs can be beneficial. Some medicines in homeopathy can also provide relief in joint pain. There can be different medicines according to the type of pain.

Dr. Raju Vaishya also said that ayurveda and homeopathy can be used along with allopathic treatment, but not in its place. Before starting any treatment, consult a good doctor. Treatment should always be done by a certified therapist.

What to eat and what not to eat in joint pain?

Dr. Kiran Soni, Head of Nutrition and health Department at Yatharth Hospital Greater noida told, diet plays a very important role in reducing joint pain. With the right diet, you can get relief from this pain and keep your joints healthy. Whatever we eat can either increase or reduce inflammation in our body and inflammation is a major cause of joint pain.

Fruits and vegetables have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties that can help reduce joint pain. Eating warm and nutritious food is essential in winter. Soup made from bone broth, mixed vegetable stew, food with spices like turmeric and cinnamon can help reduce joint stiffness and pain.

Omega-3 fatty acids: Omega-3 fatty acids are found in abundance in fish like salmon and mackerel. It helps in reducing inflammation in the body. Apart from this, walnuts, flax seeds, chia seeds, turmeric, ginger and green leafy vegetables are also helpful in fighting inflammation.

Minerals like vitamins D and C, calcium and magnesium are essential for joint health. Consuming enough of these can help strengthen joints and prevent them from getting damaged. Tart cherry juice and smoothies made from vegetables like spinach, celery and ginger are also beneficial for joints.
