Cases of cyber crime are increasing rapidly in Delhi. The cyber police of the North-East district arrested the cunning thug. The accused has been identified as 24-year-old Bablu Kumar Mahato. Bablu is a resident of Gopalganj, Bihar. The police nabbed the cyber thug from Noida. 05 smartphones, 32 SIM cards, 08 ATM cards, 01 cheque book, 02 bank passbooks and an Aadhaar card issued in the name of rahul have been recovered from the accused. DCP ashish Mishra said that the victim's son had complained.

The son had told that a whatsapp call came on his father's mobile on 26 november 2024. The caller pleaded for help by posing as his nephew. He asked to transfer the money by stating that he needed the money urgently. The victim was deceived that the money was not being transferred to the account due to technical problems. The caller requested the victim to transfer Rs 5-6 lakh online. The victim was assured of the return of the money. In the name of help, the victim transferred Rs 1.3 lakh to the account mentioned.

Cyber thug in police custody

The thug sent a 'deposit slip' of money transfer to the victim's bank account. On verification, it was found that the money was not transferred to the account. The victim's son complained to the police. The police registered a case under the relevant sections and started investigation. A special team was formed to catch the criminals involved in the fraud. SHO Vijay Kumar, SI Mohit Kumar, Constable kapil sharma and Constable abhishek were included in the special team.

This is how he used to execute the crime

After finding out the alleged transaction in the bank account, the police caught Bablu Kumar Mahato from Noida. The police also recovered the mobile phone, bank passbook, ATM card used in the crime from the accused. During interrogation, Bablu has accepted his involvement in the cyber fraud incident. Other cases have also been revealed during interrogation of Bablu. The police have started further action.
