A controversy has arisen after a circular was issued regarding allegedly serving 'beef biryani' in lunch at Sir Shah Suleman Hall of aligarh Muslim university (AMU) on Sunday. police have registered an FIR against three people including two students and the Chief Provost in this case. police gave this information on Monday.
He told that Bhamola police post in-charge Jitendra Kumar Dhama has lodged an FIR against students Mohammad Fayazullah and Mujassim ahmed and hall provost professor FR Gauhar in Civil Lines police station. police Circle Officer Abhay Pandey said that the incident took place on february 8 and Karni Sena has given a memorandum in this regard. He said, 'We have taken the matter seriously and the matter is being investigated.'
Action on Karni Sena's complaint
Karni Sena state president Gyanendra Singh said that a message has gone viral on social media, which states that a beef party is being organized in AMU's Suleman Hall. He has demanded strict action against all the accused in the case as well as their expulsion from AMU. Regarding the circular, the AMU administration had clarified on sunday that it had a 'typing mistake' and assured that show cause notices have been issued to those responsible.
The AMU administration said, 'The matter was brought to our notice. We found that the circular was about the food menu. However, it had a clear typing mistake. The circular was immediately withdrawn as there was no official signature on it, raising doubts about its authenticity. The administration said, 'Our provost has issued a show cause notice to the two senior students responsible (for issuing the circular). We are taking this issue seriously to ensure strict compliance of university rules.'
