In yet another shining example of "outstanding" vigilance, Delhi’s health inspectors seem to have outdone themselves—by doing absolutely nothing until people were quite literally drinking poison.

Pomegranate juice, the epitome of health, was being laced with hard chemicals and happily served to unsuspecting customers. When the racket was busted, the man behind the counter, Ayub Khan, casually pointed fingers at his boss, Shoaib, as if mixing chemicals in fruit juice was just another day's work.

One has to wonder—were the health inspectors too busy sipping their own “special” juice, or did they simply decide that a little chemical concoction might add some “flavor” to the lives of Delhi’s citizens? Either way, while they nap on duty, the city's street vendors seem to be running their own version of a chemistry lab, right under their noses.

The adulteration of pomegranate juice with chemicals is a grave violation of consumer trust and public health standards. While the swift action taken by authorities in detaining the individuals involved and initiating investigations is commendable, this incident underscores the urgent need for more rigorous food safety enforcement and public awareness. Ensuring the integrity of consumables is not just a regulatory obligation but a fundamental right of every citizen.
