Seizure of property in case of failure to pay taxes..?

Those who do not pay the property tax will be given a letter of notification and warned that the property will be confiscated if the tax is not paid within the specified days. It is advised to pay the taxes expeditiously till the second half of the current financial year 2021-22. In the corporation, there are 5.46 lakh taxpayers. They owe Rs 160.61 crore in taxes and Rs 206.44 crore in the current financial year, for a total of Rs 367.05 crore. But, many more are being negligent in not paying taxes.A letter of request for property tax is being sent to those who do not pay. That is, within 15 days of receipt of the notice, the entire amount specified must be paid to the computer collection centers, and if not paid within the specified days, the property will be confiscated.According to the corporation's revenue department, we are issuing a solicitation notice to non-payers of property tax for the first and second half of 2020-21 (first half), 2021-22. Payment must be made in full within 15 days of receipt of the notice. A foreclosure order will be issued under Section 36 of the tamil Nadu district Municipality Act to confiscate the property of the person concerned without giving a proper reason as to why it was not paid. After that, if the tax and fees are not paid, the property will be confiscated.
