Flat closing in stock market, Sens*x lost momentum...

The indian stock market closed flat today and there was a lot of movement in smallcap stocks along with the midcap index. Pressure was seen on auto stocks and the sluggishness of bank stocks pulled the market down. At the time of opening in the morning, the Nifty opened with a gain of 80 points, but by the time of closing, the stock market lost all the momentum and closed with a red mark of decline. bank Nifty, which was looking weak in the morning, was seen recovering a lot by the end of the trading session.

The BSE Sensex closed at 80,424.68 with a slight decline of 12.16 points and the NSE Nifty closed at 24,572.65 with a slight gain of 31.50 points or 0.13 percent.

Trading closed on a total of 4165 shares, out of which 2710 shares rose while 1316 shares fell. 139 shares closed with no change. 288 shares saw their 52-week high and 42 shares closed with an upper circuit.

Update on Sensex and Nifty shares

Out of 30 shares of Sensex, 20 closed with a gain and 10 shares declined. Out of 50 Nifty stocks, 31 stocks rose and 19 stocks fell. Hindalco, Tata Steel, Trent, LTI Mindtree and Coal india were among the top gainers.
