Tuesday's trading session proved to be very auspicious for the indian stock market. Due to investors' buying in banking and IT stocks, the indian stock market closed with a great gain in today's session. Mid-cap and small-cap stocks have also seen greenery. At the end of today's session, the BSE Sensex closed at 80,902 points with a jump of 378 points, while the National Stock Exchange's Nifty closed at 24,700 points with a jump of 126 points.
Market cap jumps by Rs 2.50 lakh crore
Due to the great rise in the indian stock market, there has been a tremendous jump in the wealth of investors. The market cap of stocks listed on the BSE has reached Rs 456.58 lakh crore, which was Rs 454.39 lakh crore in the last session. In today's session, the market cap of the market has increased by Rs 2.19 lakh crore.
Rising and falling shares
In today's trading, 24 out of 30 shares of Sensex closed with gains and 6 closed with losses. While 38 out of 50 shares of Nifty closed with gains and 12 closed with losses. Among the rising shares, Bajaj Finserv closed with a gain of 3.20 percent, IndusInd bank 2.54 percent, Tech mahindra 2.01 percent, Kotak bank 1.47 percent, Axis bank 1.12 percent, NTPC 1.02 percent, sun Pharma 0.91 percent, Nestle 0.82 percent, HCL Tech 0.77 percent and sbi 0.71 percent. While among the falling stocks, Bharti airtel closed down by 1.30 percent, ITC by 0.48 percent, adani Ports by 0.35 percent, JSW Steel by 0.21 percent, Tata Motors by 0.16 percent.
Sectoral update
In today's trade, the sectors whose stocks rose include banking, IT, auto, pharma, metals, real estate, energy, consumer durables, healthcare and oil and gas sector stocks. Only FMCG and media stocks saw a decline. In today's trade, both the indices closed higher due to buying in midcap and smallcap stocks. india Vix closed down by 3.49 percent at 13.82.
