This state is getting the most foreign investment!!!
On tuesday this week, DPIIT released the official data of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI). The figures show that in the first quarter of the current financial year, FDI grew by a spectacular 48 per cent and the overall figure crossed $16 billion. If we look at the states, maharashtra has been at the forefront in attracting FDI.
Maharashtra alone accounts for more than half
According to the data released by the Department of Promotion of industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), maharashtra attracted FDI of Rs 70,795 crore in the first quarter of the financial year 2024-25 i.e. in the three months from april to june 2024. This is the highest compared to any other state. maharashtra alone accounts for 52.46 per cent of the total FDI in the country.
So much foreign investment came last year
Maharashtra deputy chief minister Devendra Fadnavis, citing DPII figures, said that the total FDI in the country in the first quarter was Rs 1,34,959 crore, in which maharashtra alone contributed Rs 70,795 crore or 52.46 percent. maharashtra is in the first place for the second consecutive year. In the last financial year, maharashtra received foreign investment of Rs 12,35,101 crore in the form of FDI, which is more than the combined figures of gujarat and Karnataka.
These states are in second place after Maharashtra
Karnataka is in second place with Rs 19,059 crore in terms of getting the highest FDI in the first quarter of this financial year. delhi has received foreign investment of Rs 10,788 crore. telangana is in fourth place with Rs 9,023 crore. It is followed by gujarat with Rs 8,508 crore, tamil Nadu with Rs 8,325 crore, haryana with Rs 5,818 crore, Uttar Pradesh with Rs 370 crore and rajasthan with Rs 311 crore.
