'Chota Bheem'-A villain or Hero?
'Chota Bheem'... Elders may not be familiar and bachelors wonder who that guy may be. But this cartoon character is extremely popular with kids. He is the small boy named as Chota Bheem.
Chhota Bheem is an Indian children's animation series, focusing on the adventures of a small boy named Bheem in the fictional city of Dholakpur. The series was launched in 2008. As of 2012 it has aired over 120 episodes. It was created by Rajiv Chilaka the CEO of Green Gold Animation and is broadcast on Pogo TV.The series quickly became popular and soon emerged as the number one Indian animation show in all of India.
Success of the serial prompted the film makers into number of animation films over the years and even a full length feature film titled Chhota Bheem and the Curse of Damyaan which was released in 2012. Now Chhota Bheem And The Throne of Bali is being screened in theaters.
Now one wonder whether Chota Bheem is a hero or villain in the eyes of parents and children. For kids obviously he is a hero and they cannot live with out them. If given a chance they will be watching 24 hrs and many must be now crying and pestering their parents to take them to the movie on big screen.
However Parents will be cursing Chota Bheem and the character creators as kids control remotes and TVs robbing them of their enjoyment and TV time. They feel its a waste of time and with the same episodes telecast continuously in POGO, kids stopped playing outdoor games. Wonder what the Chota Bheem creators will say? They will be happy that their episodes are popular and business is prospering. Who cares whether kids are spoiled or not?
