Poonam Bajwa is an Indian actress who predominantly works in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam films. The 26 year old actress originally hails from Mumbai and she is a punjabi by birth. Her father Amarjith Singh is a naval officer and mother Deepika Singh is a home maker. She also has a younger sister Daya.
She did modelling during her studies and when she walked ramp at Hyderabad, 'Mudati' director spotted her and gave her chance in movies. She also has a degree in Literature from SIMC, Pune. She started her career in 2005 with the Telugu movie 'Modati Cinema'. She also appeared in several Telugu movies later on.
In Tamil, she made her debut with 'Seval' and slowly she establised her forte there. Right now she acts along with Trisha and Oviya for a female multi-starrer subject 'Bhogi'. She also has 'Zachariah Pothen Jeevichiripundu' in Malayalam and 'Gundu Kathirikai' in Tamil.
