National award winner actress Shweta prasad Basu name surfaced in 2014 sex scandal that shocked the entire nation. Reportedly she was caught red handed during a police raid in Banjara Hills, although she later denied her involvement in the scandal, she alleged that she was falsely framed in prostitution racket.

An assistant director of telugu films was also arrested in connection with the racket, Shweta was doing flesh trade for feeding her family.
