Reportedly last month there were reports that producer Kathiresan's Five Star Creations has bought the remake rights of hit malayalam film, Ayyappanum Koshiyum, and actor sasikumar has been roped in to play one of the leads. Now, the internet is abuzz with speculations that the makers have signed actor arya to play Prithviraj's character in the tamil version of the film. However, when Indiatoday.in contacted Arya, he denied the reports as rumours. "I am not a part of Ayyappanum Koshiyum tamil remake," he said.

 

Sources close to the makers say that only sasikumar has been finalised for the project and they will announce the cast and crew in june post the lockdown. Major portions of the film will be shot in ooty and kodaikanal, where Ayyapanum Koshiyum was also filmed.Ayyappanum Koshiyum was about an ego clash between a police officer named Ayyappan Nair, played by biju menon, and a retired havildar named Koshy Kurien, essayed by Prithviraj. The film was praised by the audience and critics alike.

 

Directed by Sachy, the film also featured actors like Ranjith, anil Nedumangad, Sabumon Abdusamad, Alencier Ley Lopez, and Anna Rajan in pivotal roles. Meanwhile, arya will shoot for his upcoming film with director Pa Ranjith post the coronavirus crisis. He will play the role of a boxer in the film. He is also waiting for the release of Teddy, which features his wife Sayyeshaa as the female lead. On the other hand, sasikumar is waiting for the release of upcoming film, mgr Magan, directed by Ponram.
