Tarzan: The Epic Adventures actor Joe Lara died on saturday in a plane crash. The crash took place near the US city of Nashville.  Along with him all other passengers on board along with his wife were dead. The small business jet crashed at around 11:00 am on saturday, shortly after taking off from the Smyrna, Tennessee airport for Palm Beach, Florida.

After 12 miles south of Nashville, the plane went down into Percy Priest Lake. RCFR incident commander Captain Joshua Sanders said, "We are no longer in an attempt to look for live victims at this point so we're now recovering as much as we can from the crash site." On sunday RCFR said that recovery operations had found "several components of the aircraft as well as human remains".

Lara was a very popular star back in time when he played Tarzan in the television movie "Tarzan in Manhattan." He later starred in the television series "Tarzan: The Epic Adventures," which ran from 1996-1997. His wife Gwen Shamblin Lara also lost her life in the plane crash. She heads the christian weight-loss group called Weigh Down Ministries. She has two children from her previous marriage.
