Coming into theatres after two years Gap!
Yes ... after a long gap! Personally, I love watching movies in theatres. Accidentally had a break. Again two years later I want to stand behind the theatre in my favourite way and watch a movie and I am just waiting for that experience. I haven't slept for ten days.
Went back in time for the first time- A Periodic Movie. How is it?
In order to make such films ... there has to be a lot of courage in the story. Because ... in terms of budget, in terms of other factors, everyone is at risk. Such things can only be done when a gorgeous story is found.
'Shyam Singa Roy' has got a good story. It is just not enough to have a story and a hero to bring that period to the screen. We need good technicians, costume designers, cameramen.
The film received 200 per cent support from all quarters. When watching 'Shyam Singa Roy', you can have a feel like - If you were in that period, what would it be like to go into that world.
What was it like coming out of that world?
We came out after the movie was over. There are lots of memories.
'Shyam Singha Roy' getup ... Resembles Kamal Haasan?
As we are a fan of Kamal Garu somewhere ... that reference comes in the look, the moustache, the folding of the shirt.
Kamal's moustache stays the same in 'Hey Ram'. If you watch the old 'Satya' movie ... the shirt will be folded in the same way. In terms of the story ... there is no actual relationship.
Have you gained weight for the role of Shyam?
None! It comes through body language. I finished the Vasu roll shooting in the afternoon and started the shyam roll shooting in the evening.
Nani as director. How did it feel?
It seemed so exciting and the old days are remembered. However ... Vasudi had a very comfortable life. Ours is not such a comfortable life.
