Despite having no opposition, king Nagarjuna's Bangarraju failed to make a significant impact at the ticket sales in its second week of distribution. The film's run has come to an end. Because of the Sankranthi push and the lack of government involvement, the film was able to gain traction in andhra pradesh, where it has proven to be a lucrative industry for the investors.

The film's buzz was lacking, but the festival benefit, as well as the ap government's decision to postpone the nighttime ban and a 50% occupancy, aided the film much. Buyers in other countries have suffered significant losses. Everyone was surprised by the film's poor performance in Nizam from the start. Internationally, it was also a non-starter ROI and it never provided much returns to the distributors.

The ROI's situation was made worse by sunday lockdowns and other COVID limitations. The movie's total recovery is about 80%, putting it on par with mediocre fare. In two respects, Sankranthi 2022 has been a letdown for telugu cinema. We've seen major films like rrr and radhe shyam being pushed back. Bangarraju is the only prominent publication for Sankranthi, and this is the first time in many years that the festival season has finished without a single blast. Now with film's popularity waning, we may soon witness a Bangarraju OTT Launch on Zee5.
