Members of the Vijay fan club which is led by Solai Muthu, the leader of the Vijay Makkal Iyakka Movement in Usilampatti, madurai district, announced that they would hold an awareness rally against banned drugs, including tobacco. Those who had gathered for the rally suddenly entered the nearby bus stand premises and started checking in the shops as they do in the Thalapathy movies.
They then got into an argument claiming that Gutka was sold at a particular store. The dispute between the two ended when the shop owner replied that the Gutka goods were not sold in his shop and that what you had brought in hand was not bought in his shop.
In this case, the police also went to protect the rally for the Vijay fans who were involved in social experimentation and the people along with the fans who were said to be the health inspectors were wrong. Investigating the situation, the police started disappearing one by one, saying that they need to get proper permission to conduct a rigorous search and that they will be prosecuted if the shopkeeper complains about them. The raid, which began with a firearm, was quietly disbanded following a police warning. In Usilampatti, Vijay fans announced that they were going to stage an anti-drug awareness protest against Gutka's entry into the shops and caused a stir.
