The spectacular upside-down scene at the conclusion of the much-hyped Batmobile chase sequence, which also involved the Penguin, is explained by Batman filmmaker Matt Reeves. The plot follows the titular vigilante as he embarks on a mission into Gotham City's underground and exposes corruption in his second year of battling crime. Simultaneously, Batman must track down the Riddler, a vicious killer who preys on Gotham's wealthy and powerful, leaving a trail of cryptic messages in his wake.

Robert Pattinson, best known for his roles in Twilight and Tenet, dons the cape and cowl as Bruce Waayne/Batsy in the character's newest live-action adaptation, taking over the role from Ben Afleck after the latter's performances in the DC Ultimate Universe. Patinson is joined by a star-studded secondary ensemble that includes Paul Danno as The Riddler and Zoë Kravitz as Catwoman/Selinaa Kyyle. The Batman debuted in theatres on march 4 to critical acclaim, earning a Positive score on Rotten Tomatoes with an 87 percent rating.

Reeves sits down for the newest episode of Movieblend's Reelblend podcast to explore the exciting action sequence in The Batman featuring the Batmobile as Batman pursues the Penguin. The finished upside-down shot in the sequential manner was characterised by Reeves as a "Hitchcockian" motivation, as he wanted audiences to "experience" the Penguin's viewpoint while he lay inverted inside the vehicle, which also helped the director create Batman's "mythology looks" with a "smoldering inferno" in the backstory.
