RRR, SS Rajamouli's masterpiece, is still playing in theatres. The film's theatrical run will soon reach 50 days. Meanwhile, it is preparing to enter the over-the-top (OTT) market. rrr will launch on Zee5 on May 20 in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayaalam, according to reports. On the same day, Netflix will release the hindi version. Soon, an official announcement should be made.

There is, however, a twist in the OTT release. For a few days, Zee5 appears to be considering a pay-per-view strategy for RRR. This means that viewers must pay and reserve a time to watch the film on Zeeplex. Films like radhe shyam and Kaali Peeli were previously released on Zee using this technique. They were, however, direct OTT releases. After a 50-day theatrical run, rrr is now available on demand. Who would want to buy and watch it once on OTT when they can still see it in theatres? As a result, we'll have to see if this method works for Zee.

Ironically, the pirated version already leaked and is spreading on lots of pirated websites and this has been a big headache for rrr makers right now and no wonder, no one is going to buy the movie on OTT right now.
