Actor Vijay filed a case against this. During the trial, Vijay's lawyer argued that the penalty should be calculated at two percent per month from the time the car was imported, but a penalty of 400 percent is imposed by the Commercial Tax Department. The case has been decided today. Accordingly, actor Vijay should not be fined if he has paid the tax fully before january 2019, and only if he does not pay the tax after january 2019, he should be fined. Thus the case is closed.
