After losing the slander trial, actress Amber Heard sold her Southern california house covertly for a sizable profit. The 36-year-old actress has reportedly started raising part of that money by listing her Yucca Valley house in the california desert for $1.05 million, netting her a profit of roughly $500,000 with a closing date of July 18. According to aceshowbiz.com, she allegedly purchased the home in 2019 using an unnamed trust that was connected to her.

There is uncertainty regarding Heard's capacity to pay the damages, which total $10 million in compensatory damages and $350,000 in punitive damages, right away. In a countersuit, Depp will also pay her $2 million, leaving her with just over $8 million to pay. Just a few days after Heard filed a notice of appeal against Depp in the defamation case, news broke that she had sold her home. The appeal was filed even though Heard's plea for a fresh trial was turned down.

Representatives for Depp reaffirmed their conviction that the compensation decision will stand. After Heard filed an appeal, a spokeswoman for Depp stated to Daily Mail on July 21: "The jury deliberated for six weeks, heard the substantial evidence, and reached a unanimous decision that the defendant had repeatedly slandered Mr. Depp. We continue to believe that our argument is strong and that this judgement will stand."
