In the post-credits sequence of Black Adam, Superman makes an appearance after Amanda Waller threatens the antihero, saying she'll bring in someone who isn't from Earth to handle his powerful abilities. Waller seems confident that the Man of Steel can take Teth-Adam considering how powerful the superhero is, and Henry Cavill's return as Superman suggests he could make an appearance in a potential Black Adam sequel.

That someone turns out to be none other than the beloved Kryptonian, who tells Black Adam that it's been a while since anyone's "made the world this nervous." Fans likely thought they had seen the last of Cavill as Superman with his final appearance in Zack Snyder's Justice League, at least for a while. Black Adam wasn't going to feature Superman, but Johnson battled for a cameo since, in his words, "the whole point" of having a solo film was to set up the fight between Black Adam and Superman.

When Cavill shot the post-credits sequence in september 2022, fans once again hoped to see more of his character. Hiram Garcia, the producer of Black Adam, has hinted at possible future plans for Henry Cavill's Superman in the DC Extended Universe. Garcia discussed the process of reinstating the Man of Steel in the movie in an interview.
