Ponniyin Selvan won the hearts of the differently-abled...!?

The movie 'Ponniyin Selvan' was screened free of charge for differently abled students in tirunelveli on the occasion of international Handicapped Day. Mani Ratnam's film 'Ponniyin Selvan' was screened for free in tirunelveli on the occasion of the international Day of Disabled Persons. Arrangements for this were made on behalf of the district administration in the private theater. In this, Gokul, who recently took charge as Assistant collector (Trainee) in tirunelveli district, also participated. He is also a disabled person. He along with 200 differently-abled students watched ponniyin selvan film and enjoyed it. This was the first time most of these students had seen a film in a theatre.

A state-of-the-art audio system was also arranged to facilitate hearing and understanding of ponniyin selvan by the blind. Apart from that, arrangements were made to put subtitles, especially for hearing-impaired people so that they could understand the film.

Speaking to the students who came to watch the film, Assistant collector (Training) Gokul said that 'everyone should act with self-confidence and go on the path of progress to encourage them. According to a report in New indian Express, tirunelveli district Revenue Officer M. sukanya and many others participated in the event.
