Even if filmmaker Patty Jenkins decides not to return, Warner Bros. and DC Studios allegedly still intend to produce Wonder Woman 3 with Gal Gadot as the lead. As soon as the first film, which was released in 2017, received positive reviews and outperformed box office projections, the Wonder Woman film franchise was established as the gem in the crown of the DC Universe.

Due to its worldwide distribution, it is more difficult to gauge the popularity of its sequel, but Warner Bros.' revelation that Wonder Woman 3 was under development soon after the first film's debut hinted at its success. However, a change of management at DC Studios two years later raised concerns about the studio's future.

Yesterday, rumours started to spread that Warner Bros. and DC had shelved Wonder Woman 3 because it did not conform to james Gunn and Peter Safran's evolving vision for the future of the cinematic world. A new report from Deadline gives an update on the movie's situation and mentions that DC is still interested in producing a sequel.

The information supports recent reports that Patty Jenkins turned down requests to modify the Wonder Woman 3 script to conform to the new DCU vision. Although the initial story claimed the film was no longer in development at the time, this update reveals that the studio is still planning to release Wonder Woman 3 and is hoping Gal Gadot will consent to return, even without Jenkins.
