In Avatar: The Way Of Water, Sigourney Weaver clarifies the enigmatic relationship between her new character Kiri, Dr. Grace Augustine, and Eywa. In the movie avatar, Weaver played Dr. Grace Augustine, a human xenobotanist who supported the Na'vi during the struggle. When Grace and Jake Sully escaped from custody to aid the Na'vi, Grace, who had her own Na'vi avatar, was fatally wounded. Her death prevented the Na'vi from successfully transferring her consciousness to her avatar body.

Weaver plays Kiri, the teenage adopted daughter of Jake Sully and Neytiri in Avatar: The Way Of Water. Kiri was born of Grace's avatar and maintains a relationship with her. Weaver reveals fresh details about the characteristics of Dr. Grace Augustine that she used into her performance as Kiri in an exclusive conversation with Screen Rant. She also says that Kiri would attempt to establish a stronger bond with Grace in the film. Weaver also alluded to Kiri and the Na'vi god Eywa having a complex and enigmatic relationship.

There is unquestionably a transfer of interest and a love of nature, according to Sigourney Weaver. Kiri, in my opinion, has a distinct method of expressing all that, whereas Grace really loves to take on the form of an avatar, be outside in the forest, and learn things. She is simply a part of nature. I'm not sure where that originates. But fortunately, you will get to see her attempt to connect with Grace more in the film because it is very much in the script.
