Chiranjeevi's Waltair Veerayya and Balakrishna's Veera simha Reddy, two Sankranthi releases from last week, performed exceptionally well over the weekend. Despite the conflicting reviews, both movies well exceeded expectations. Both movies made the most of the Sankranthi advantage. This Sankranthi, Prabhas' Adipurush was also scheduled for release. However, the producers were forced to delay the movie because of the audience's dismal response to the teaser.

Fans of prabhas are miffed that they missed the perfect opportunity to capitalise on the Sankranthi celebration. They believe that if unremarkable word-of-mouth movies like Veera simha Reddy and Waltair Veerayya could do so well, then Prabhas' Lord Rama-based movie would have wreaked havoc at the box office. prabhas, however, missed a tremendous opportunity as a result of the Adipurush producers' abject failure to produce a high-quality product.

Adipurush is set to hit theatres on june 16, but many believe that date is the worst possible for such a big movie. In response to a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) petition asking for an order preventing the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) from issuing a certificate for the screening of the prabhas, Saif ali Khan, and kriti sanon starrer "Adipurush," the allahabad High court has sent the board a notice.
