Mani Ratnam's ponniyin selvan 2 (PS2) is scheduled to enter theatres on april 28. At a press conference for the movie, vikram was open and honest about the "unrequited love" between his Aditya Karikalan and aishwarya Rai's Nandini.
"I adore Nandini and Aditya Karikalan's unrequited love. It's a very distinctive type of love. In numerous films, I've romanced many different characters, and each time the love was either one-sided or shared. However, in this movie, for the first time, there is one person who loves him so deeply that he can kill, and there is another person who loves her so deeply that he will die for her, according to Vikram.

He continued, complimenting Mani Ratnam's handling of the narrative, by asking, "What happens next? Does she cause him to pass away or does he survive? You are ignorant. That is a really lovely notion. The love tale is not yet over in the text, either; it is left up to us to imagine anything. I adore the way Mani Sir has tastefully wrapped it up.
Vikram even mentioned the possibility of working with aishwarya once more, describing their chemistry as "phenomenal". collaborating with her was fantastic. I really enjoyed it; it was lovely to see her on television again, and our chemistry is fantastic," he stated.
In ponniyin selvan 2, aishwarya will reprise her dual roles as mother Mandakini Devi and queen Nandini. The movie picks off where PS 1 left off and follows Arulmozhi Varman's ascent to the position of Rajaraja Chola I, the greatest king of the Chola kingdom. It is anticipated that PS 2 will emphasise Vikram's character's flashback narrative and shed information on the relationship that forms between ponniyin selvan and Oomai Rani.
