Vadivelu could win numerous prizes for his role in the movie, according to Udhayanidhi, who stated as much in an interview. At a gathering, Mari Selvaraj claimed that Vadivelu had always been a part of his stories and that he had made an effort to include him in his films beginning with Pariyerum Perumal. The filmmaker had also mentioned that he would have abandoned the project entirely if Vadivelu hadn't agreed to join.
It's interesting to note that this is Udhayanidhi's final acting role. After gaining office as the minister for youth Welfare and sports Development of tamil Nadu, Udhayanidhi declared that Maamannan would be his final movie.
