Shah Rukh Khan may have had his first theatrical release with the 1992 movie Deewana, but director Ketan Mehta has admitted that SRK really shot for maya Memsaab before that. He recalled the occasion when they had to film in shimla even though Shah Rukh Khan's mother was in critical condition. Ketan claimed in an interview with bollywood Hungama that Shah Rukh Khan arrived in shimla to prevent postponing the film's shooting. shimla has already been arrived by the whole film crew.
