The madras high court has quashed the case against dhanush and aishwarya Rajinikanth related to the film 'Velaililla Bhattadari'.
The movie 'Velaiilla Pattadhari' was released in 2014 and received huge response. dhanush and amala paul starrer, this movie produced by Wonder company was a box office hit. The film featured scenes of actor dhanush smoking a cigarette.
There was an allegation that the displays were set up in violation of the provisions of the Tobacco Promotion Act. A complaint was filed against the production company and actor dhanush as there was no proper warning text in the film where actor dhanush was seen smoking.
On 25 July 2014, a complaint was filed with the tamil Nadu government on behalf of the People's Organization for tamil Nadu Tobacco Control. Based on this, the tamil Nadu Deputy director of Public health filed a complaint against actor dhanush and producer aishwarya Rajinikanth in the Saidapet court.
