The startling revelation of the 69th National Film Awards winners left kollywood movie fans feeling let down. The majority of the tamil audience anticipated that "Jai Bhim," "Karnan," and "Sarpatta Parambarai" would be recognised. Unfortunately, these much awaited films didn't receive the praise they were expected to, disappointing fans and ardent viewers.

Expectations were raised after Suriya's Best Actor win in "Soorarai Pottru" the previous year, and many people were optimistic that "Jai Bhim" would achieve comparable success. Similar topics were explored in "Karnan," a film starring dhanush and directed by Mari Selvaraj, which explored the sufferings of an oppressed society. The business and its supporters had anticipated that these films would receive a lot of attention. dhanush previously won an award for a film that was comparable.

The lack of praise for Pa Ranjith's "Sarpatta Parambarai," which brilliantly captured the cultural environment of north Madras, also added to the general feeling of disappointment. The film was not nominated for any awards despite having excellent actors, a strong storyline, and stirring soundtrack.

With "Kadaisi Vivasayi" receiving recognition as the Best tamil Film and a special mention for its lead actor, Nallandi, there was some optimism among the despair. Dissatisfaction among ardent tamil film fans has been extensively voiced on a number of social media sites.
