Earlier in 2017, it was announced that actor vikram will act in an epic film called Mahavir Karna, based on the life of Mahabarata's pivotal character Karna. To be directed by RS Vimal, the film never took off due to various reasons. Now, the director has announced that the film will start rolling soon.
The film will narrate the story of Karna from the perspective of the unsung hero of the Mahabharata. The film was earlier planned to be made on a budget of Rs 300 crore. The film will be made in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, kannada and Malayalam. director RS Vimal, posted a picture of vikram as Karna from the film, and wrote, "Sooryaputhran karnan rolling soon".

Now with the film all set to be revived, an official announcement regarding the cast and crew is expected to be made soon. vikram has already impressed the audience with his performance in Mani Ratnam's 'Ponniyin Selvan', and now the expectations for the star actor's performance and story of the film will be more.

It is known that the project announced a few years back and a few war sequences were also shot, after which, due to unknown reasons the project was dropped.
