Leo, starring Thalapathy Vijay, is rumored to have opened in theatres last weekend. During its debut weekend at the box office, the movie brought in a remarkable amount of money. However, as of late, there has been a twitter trend dubbed "Leo Scam" in which users claim that Leo is the victim of a sophisticated scheme to make him appear popular while, in fact, it is only dependent on fictitious donations.

First, there's the claim that Leo's collection has been greatly exaggerated by ComScore, a website that tracks income. While many claimed that they had artificially increased Leo's box office receipts, this tracker was considered dependable in the tamil industry. Then, some Rajinikanth supporters posted pictures on Book My Show claiming that Jailer had sold more tickets than Leo, but that Leo's earnings had exceeded Jailer's. They claim that Vijay's group is increasing the quantity.

Subsequently, a video appears claiming that, despite the fact that the Leo Theatre is empty, there are proxy bookings to indicate that it is fully booked. Proxy booking is allegedly being used to deceive moviegoers into believing that theatres are quickly filling up.

Consequently, the hashtag #LeoScam has begun to gain significant traction on Twitter. There has been a strong uptake of this on social media.
