For me, this single is an expression of various feelings, particularly the exploration of dark feminine energy. This video is all about celebrating the darker and shadowy aspects of people, breaking free from conventional norms.
The title stems from the idea that when you’re misunderstood, especially as a woman, you might be labeled a ‘monster’ or a ‘raatchasi’. It’s about owning that label and turning it into a powerful, terminator-like force. That’s how I feel (smiles). The concept resonates with my own experiences, where I’ve been questioned, but I embrace my true self and the other sides of my femininity. I like showing my femininity in a different way. The concept for the single revolved around showcasing two extremes: the so-called ‘perfect’ woman who sits and waits, and the deepest, darkest monster, representing truth that is visceral and raw. It was essential to assemble a supportive team to bring this vision to life. Dwarakesh, the director of the music video, played a pivotal role in understanding and executing the concept. Because, we did one version first and then the other; he was there for me throughout.
