Numerous short films and recent cinematic releases have demonstrated that compelling content often triumphs over grandiose cutouts and star power. South indian cinema has witnessed a surge in such content-driven films, leading to a growing appreciation for OTT content. Two recent releases, "Keeda Cola" and "Polimera-2," have generated substantial positive buzz among audiences.
This enthusiasm has only continued to grow after their release. "Keeda Cola" hit theatres amidst high expectations, building upon the success of its predecessor, "Polimera." Both films have garnered positive reviews, spreading through word of mouth. As a result, they have reportedly performed well at the box office.
"Keeda Cola" has achieved significant collections in the overseas market, raking in over three crores. In the telugu states, it has secured a two-crore collection. The trade circles estimate that "Keeda Cola" grossed six crores on its opening day. Meanwhile, "Polimera-2," featuring Satyamrajesh in a leading role, also exhibited strong performance in various centres. On its first day, it reportedly grossed around 2.5 crores, although producers claim a three-crore gross.
While both films have received a promising start, the challenge lies in sustaining this momentum. Weekend occupancy is expected to rise, and promotion will be crucial in reaching a broader audience. These movies have primarily relied on word of mouth, and a strategic promotional push could further elevate their success. The true test for these films will be in the upcoming week, starting from Monday.
