When the film "Lucifer" was released, both star hero Mohan Lal and the film's director, another star hero, prithviraj Sukumaran, astounded the audience with the substance they provided. At the end of the film, it is revealed that Mohan Lal's character was a major don overseas until his father summoned him to assist his step-sister in forming a government in the state. That alone suggests that a sequel may be in the works. And now for the catch.

Though lucifer succeeded well in Malayalam, it did not do well in telugu when movie was recreated as "Godfather" by megastar Chiranjeevi. The picture maintained loyal to the original, with a few alterations, but the box office outcome wasn't fantastic. With the announcement of Empuraan, a franchisee film of the lucifer series that deals with the don-life of Mohan Lal's character, directed by Prithviraj, people are asking whether chiranjeevi would remake this one in telugu as well.

According to reports, the creators of lucifer are not in the mood to sell the remake rights this time, and would instead release the entire picture as a Pan-India film in all indian languages. In such event, chiranjeevi may not be given the opportunity to recreate the film. However, if they do not pursue such a release, the megastar may contemplate doing so as well. Let's wait and see what occurs.
