He is currently working on his 170th film, directed by TJ Gnana Vale, who earned acclaim for the movie 'Jai Bheem.' The working title for this film is 'Thalaivar170.' The movie boasts a star-studded cast with actors from various film industries, including Daggubati Rana from Telugu, Fahad fazil from Malayalam, and bollywood legend amitabh Bachchan.
The film has generated high expectations due to this ensemble cast and is currently in rapid production. To celebrate Rajinikanth's birthday, the makers have unveiled the title teaser for the film. The official title has been confirmed as 'Vettayan.' While this title is in Tamil, it remains to be seen if different titles will be announced for other language versions of the film.
The teaser opens with Rajinikanth seated, feet on the table, reading a book on subhash chandra Bose, and later walking out of an office wearing khaki shoes. The teaser is highlighted by Rajinikanth's impactful dialogue, "When the hunt begins, you must hunt." Anirudh's music in the teaser adds to the excitement.
Scenes involving amitabh bachchan have already been filmed in Mumbai. This film marks the reunion of Rajinikanth and amitabh bachchan after approximately 33 years, with their last collaboration being in the movies 'Andaka Noon' and 'Giraftaar' in 1980. The makers, backed by lyca productions with a substantial budget, are aiming to release the film in 2024.
