Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan's latest film "Dunki" experienced a mixed response from the audience, leading to divided talk on its opening day. Directed by renowned filmmaker rajkumar hirani, the film did not connect emotionally with the audience, according to some critiques. Despite Shah Rukh Khan's commendable performance, the movie faced criticism for not living up to expectations, especially when compared to Hirani's previous successful films.
"Dunki" initially received poor openings at the box office, but it saw gradual growth in collections from the second day onwards. The film benefited from being released during the christmas holiday and weekend, contributing to substantial collections over five days. On the fourth day, "Dunki" collected around Rs. 23 to Rs. 24 crores nett, bringing the total four-day collections to Rs. 130 crores. The film's worldwide gross stood at Rs. 156 crores.
On the fifth day, it continued to perform well, grossing around Rs. 93 crores overseas and reaching a total worldwide collection of Rs. 250 crores in just five days. Despite receiving a divided talk, the film maintained steady collections without a significant drop, and it remained to be seen how it would perform in the coming days.
For "Dunki" to be considered a box office hit, it would need to gross another Rs. 300 crores. The film, produced by rajkumar hirani and gauri khan under the banners of rajkumar hirani Films, red Chillies Entertainments, and jio Studio, features taapsee pannu in a key role, alongside Shah Rukh Khan.
