After its christmas release, Salaar has already crossed the 500-crore mark, with expectations of reaching around 800 crores in its full run. Despite the film team's active publicity efforts, there are murmurs that Hombale Group is concerned about the negative campaign by Shah Rukh Khan's fans and has not forgotten the rivalry from a section of Khan's supporters.

In a recent conversation, Prashanth Neel, Prabhas, and prithviraj Sukumaran addressed these issues. Salaar faced tough competition from shahrukh khan and Rajkumar Hirani's Dunki, released within a day of each other, leading to a sharing of theaters. Fans of Dunki allegedly downplayed Salaar, terming it as average. However, Salaar managed to perform well at the box office.

Prashant Neel clarified that there is no actual competition between Salaar and Dunki. He expressed dissatisfaction with the social media war between the fans of the two films, emphasizing that filmmakers aim to coexist and enjoy rather than compete. Neel denounced hostile fan wars, stating they are unproductive for the film atmosphere. Responding to online rumours about Salaar's collections being manipulated, Neel dismissed the possibility and insisted that clashes at the box office could lead to fan wars.

Some interpreted his comments differently, accusing Neel of suggesting that Shah Rukh Khan was negatively impacting Salaar. Neel clarified that he never made negative comments about any star or movie and emphasized that it's normal for fan wars to occur when two films with big stars clash. Salaar has already amassed 550 crores, while Dunki has collected 340 crores.
