The director revealed that his first choice for the role was not Vijay Deverakonda, but Allu Arjun.
Sandeep said that he had plans to make a film with allu arjun in 2011 and he had also narrated a script to him. However, the story could not be made. Later, they tried to contact the actor with arjun Reddy's script but were unable to reach him. He mentioned that he was introduced to Vijay by a friend of his, but by then the script had gone back and forth to several actors and producers. The director said that within a few weeks, he narrated the story to Vijay and he started shooting the film.
Sandeep also revealed that he is in talks to direct Allu.
