Prabhas, fresh from the success of "Salaar," is gearing up for his next film, "Kalki," produced by vyjayanthi movies and directed by nag ashwin of "Mahanati" fame. The film, with a massive budget of around 550 crores, is expected to feature groundbreaking graphics on the indian screen. Initially planned as a single-part film, it has now been confirmed that "Kalki" will be released in two parts.

The first part of "Kalki" is set to hit theaters worldwide on May 9, 2024. This date holds sentimental value for vyjayanthi movies, as it marks the release of their earlier blockbuster, "Jagadekaveerudu Athilokasundari." Additionally, the successful biopic "Mahanati," based on the life of Savitri, was also released on May 9. Drawing on the positive associations with this date, vyjayanthi movies has chosen to release "Kalki" on the same day.

However, it's worth noting that not all films released on May 9 under vyjayanthi movies have experienced overwhelming success. Movies like junior NTR's "Kantri" and Mahesh Babu's "Maharshi" did not result in significant profits, delivering average returns on investment. While the date has been historically favorable for vyjayanthi movies, the success of "Kalki" will ultimately depend on the film's content.

Despite the risks associated with the May 9 sentiment, the expectations are high for "Kalki," given director Nag Ashwin's track record. The audience is eagerly anticipating the film's release, hoping for a result that surpasses previous successes on the same date. The talk surrounding "Kalki" needs to be exceptionally positive to ensure a strong return on investment and live up to the high hopes of the audience.
