Bhavatharini, the daughter and playback vocalist of music composer Ilaiyaraaja, died on january 25 at a Sri Lankan hospital. National-award winning singer Bhavatharini's tragic demise shocked many celebrities and fans across the world. Silambarasan, anirudh ravichander and others paid tribute to her on X. Since the news of Bhavatharini's death broke, admirers have fondly remembered his mellifluous voice via her songs. A flashback video of Yuvan admiring his sister, Bhavatharini, is currently doing the rounds on social media. In the video, Yuvan stated, "I don't know music and have never learned. My sister, Bhavatha, grabbed my hands and taught me to play the piano for the first time. "She invited me to play.

Bhavatharini, 47, died in sri lanka while purportedly being treated for liver cancer. Her spouse survives her.

She made her singing debut in the tamil film 'Rasaiyya' and has worked regularly with her father, Ilaiyaraaja, and brothers, karthik raja and Yuvan shankar Raja. She also shared her silky voice with bands deva and Sirpy.

Bhavatharini received the National Film Award for Best Female Playback singer for the tamil song 'Mayil Pola Ponnu Onnu' from 'Bharathi'. She later became a composer in 2012 for Revathy's Mitr, My Friend. She sang songs in tamil films such 'Kadhalukku Mariyadhai', 'Bharathi', 'Azhagi', 'Friends', 'Paa', 'Mankatha', and 'Anegan', among others.
