During the audio launch of 'Jailer,' Superstar Rajinikanth told a story about a crow and an eagle. It spiraled out of control, resulting in fan battles between Rajini and Vijay's followers. Rajinikanth has now stated that the narrative was not meant at Thalapathy Vijay. "He is not my competitor, but a supporter," Rajinikanth stated.

At the 'Jailer' audio premiere, Rajinikanth's tale sparked a social media frenzy, with many assuming that it was directed at Vijay. Despite his unhappiness with the misunderstanding of his statement, Rajinikanth claimed, "Vijay grew up in front of my eyes." He was only 13 years old when 'Dharmathin Thalaivan' was shot. After the shoot, SA Chandrasekar introduced me to Vijay, who indicated an interest in acting. I told him to focus on his schoolwork first.

Rajinikanth praised Vijay's discipline, hard work, and skill, which propelled him to the top of the cinema business. He noted Vijay's impending political run, saying that hearing about their apparent rivalry is disappointing. Rajinikanth asked supporters not to compare and emphasized how much he admires Vijay. In addition to 'Lal Salam,' Rajinikanth is now working on 'Vettaiyan' and 'Thalaivar 171' with lokesh Kanagaraj.
